Web Based Training (in Addiction Medicine) for Pain Management:


The mission of this site is to create an online environment that enables pain management providers to better manage co-morbid substance misuseThe use of a medication other than as indicated by a physician whether or not it is done intentionally. and addiction or risk for addiction in patients suffering from pain.

This website will train pain management providers in the interface of pain and addiction medicine.

This website is for clinicians who treat pain and need more education in the interface of pain and addiction medicine, including primary care physicians, resident physicians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists who treat pain and need more education in the interface of pain and addiction medicine.

The content on this website is in development. It is currently based on a literature review and written by Clinical Tools staff. It is intended to meet the needs of a target audience of primarily primary care providers when treating patient for pain who need controlled substances as part of their treatment. The material is in the process of being reviewed by a team of experts in addiction and pain medicine.
